Self Care
Self Care
Self care is something many of us overlook. We are either too busy "working" or taking care of the needs of others. To be honest, (I am sooo guilty of this!) our first JOB is to take care of ourselves! The wages you receive are better health, clearer thoughts, and longer, fuller lives! Aside from giving thanks for what we have, self-care should always be at the top of our list of priorities.
Be mindful of what you eat. Choose foods that are raw and naturally colorful. Use spices and herbs whenever you can and take a step away from processed sugars and foods.
Be as active as possible. Don't like to exercise? Go for walks with a friend or your grandchildren. Clean up your lawn. Dance while you clean your house. All your chores will be more fun!
Eliminate toxins. That includes people. If you don't receive good vibes from another person, walk away and replace them with people who offer positive feelings. Throw away any cleaning products or hygiene products that include toxins. There are natural alternatives out there. Read labels and try to make a few of these items on your own.
Above all, find your joy! Happiness is a fleeting emotion. Joy offers comfort and long-term contentment. It is found by looking inward and cherishing the things you love and that return that love to you.
Forget about New Year's resolutions. Make a commitment to self-care and place your own well-being at the top of your to-do list.
